Johannes Faber is believed to have worked very early in Virginia possibly during the French and Indian War and certainly before and during the Revolutionary War. Almost certainly one or more of Morgan's riflemen would have been carrying a rifle made by Johannes Faber. This rifle is a representation of a Faber early Virginia rifle and is correct for that early period. We often think of English names associated with Virginia rifle makers, but here we have proof that at least one German ethnic maker was working in Virginia from an early time.
